Millennium Library Park is a City of Winnipeg owned and operated greenspace. In a sea of buildings and parking lots, it is the only accessible public park in an area between Main Street, Broadway, Memorial Boulevard, and Portage Avenue. In 2012, Millennium Library Park reopened, revitalizing this corner of downtown into an active Winnipeg destination where visitors and locals can explore the diversity, creativity, and richness of Manitoba’s arts, literature, and landscape in a space that focuses on community, literacy, and environmental stewardship. The park enhances and extends the success of the Millennium Library, which is the single best-used facility in the downtown, used by Winnipeggers from every part of the city. Library Park extends this energy to an adjacent outdooor space. As well as adding a vital new green space for quiet leisure such as eating lunch, reading, and people watching, Library Park has a wide range of interactive learning features and programmed activities.
